Stars, celebrities, masters and experts gathered in Foshan! In the evening of November 10th, the 34th Popular Movies Hundred Flowers Awarding Ceremony and the closing ceremony of the 27th China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival were grandly held in Foshan International Sports Culture Entertainment Hall. On the spot, 101 members of public jury voted to produce all final lists of the 34th Popular Movies Hundred Flowers Awards. It was unveiled that Operation Red Sea won the Best Film Award, that the Founding of An Army gained the Excellent Film Award, that Jason Wu was awarded as the Best Actor and Chen Jin as the Best Actress and that Dante Lam was honored as the Best Director.

Previously, the films named Operation Red Sea, Wolf Warriors Ⅱ, Soulmate were nominated for the most awards. Finally, Operation Red Sea won the Best Film Award, scriptwriters of Soulmate were awarded as Best Scriptwriter. Most Actors who were nominated as the Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor this year played heroic roles. After fierce competition, Jason Wu won the Best Actor Award with his performance in Wolf Warriors Ⅱ; Du Jiang was honored as the Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Operation Red Sea.
The Best Actress Award and the Best Supporting Actress Award were equally competitive. Several actresses with strong strength have performed wonderful life with diverse personalities and situations. After fierce competition, Chen Jin stood out from the crowd and won the Best Actress Award with her work named Hold your hands. Jiang Luxia won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in the Operation Red Sea. “The first time I came to Foshan was filming. And I won an award when I went to Foshan for the second time. Foshan brings me good luck.” Jiang Luxia said with deep feelings.
The Best New Actor was awarded by Wang Yutian who played the role of Zhang Tiande in the Operation Red Sea.
At that night, three senior artists, namely Zhu Xijuan, Zheng Guoen and Zhang Yongshou were honored with Film Artists Lifetime Achievement Award by China Federation of Literary and Art Circle. The audience stood up and applauded.
After the 6th Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival 21 years ago, it is the second time that the film festival was held in Foshan. Foshan became the first city in China to hold the film festival twice. In recent years, as the Chinese film industry enters the golden period of prosperity and development, Foshan has accelerated the construction of a number of film and television industry bases and theme parks, and has built the Southern China Film and Television Center. As a result, Foshan is becoming a “dream city” for more and more filmmakers home and abroad to innovate and start businesses.
Many actors who attended the closing ceremony had an indissoluble bond with Foshan. The famous kung fu superstar Jackie Chan made a special trip to Foshan to participate in the awarding ceremony - the background of his early kung fu movies were based on Foshan. Jackie Chan said that Foshan has deep roots with Kung Fu movies. “Foshan gave birth to Kung Fu masters such as Wong Fei-hung and Ip Man and provided many story themes for kung fu movies.”

The famous actress Ning Jing won the Best Actress in the Hundred Flowers Award held in Foshan 21 years ago. When awarding the Best Actress this year, she said that she liked the scenery, the food, and the enthusiastic people in Foshan and that she was very happy to return to Foshan to participate in the Awarding Ceremony.
At that night, Xiamen received the flag from Foshan and will hold the 28th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival next year.
