Global top-notch design masters gathered in Shunde to energize industrial upgrading and optimization

　　On December 9th, Design Shunde - 2018 Dtech International Design and Technology Conference was unveiled in Guangdong Industrial Design City. Leaders of top design institutions from China, the United States, Germany, Britain, France, Japan, South Korea, Turkey and other parts of the world gathered in Shunde to bring the world's leading design information and ideas and promote the docking of design innovation achievements.

　　Remember Xi’s words: over 8,000 designers in the Design City

　　On December 9, 2012, Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Guangdong Industrial Design City and raised his earnest expectations, "I expect to see 8,000 designers here next time." Over the past six years, Shunde has kept the president’s instructions in mind, taking Guangdong Industrial Design City as the core, continuously nurtured and strengthened the industrial design industry, and promoted the integrated development of "design + home appliances, furniture, jewelry, intelligent machinery and equipment" and other industries.

　　Nowadays, Guangdong Industrial Design City has introduced more than 250 domestic and foreign design enterprises. The number of designers has increased from 800 to more than 8,000. The annual output value of design services exceeds 700 million yuan, and there are nearly 1,000 design patents every year. In the whole region, Shunde has built a number of design industry carriers represented by Guangdong Industrial Design City, Shunde Innovation Industry Park and SKG Silicon Valley Incubation Park. It has gathered 330 professional industrial design enterprises, more than 15,000 industrial designers, 1 national industrial design center, 7 provincial industrial design centers and 8 industrial design enterprises with revenue of over 10 million yuan.

　　At the beginning of this year, Shunde made the strategic plan of "Design Shunde" as one of the core construction contents of "Science and Technology Shunde", focusing on building an innovative development pattern of "Technology-Design-Industry". Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Committee approved Shunde to take the lead in building a high-quality development system and mechanism reform innovation experimental zone in Guangdong Province, so as to explore a replicable development path for the province's high-quality development.

　　Domestic and foreign masters in design industry gathered yesterday in Guangdong Industrial Design City. The main body of the conference invited World Design Organization, Korean Design Revitalization Institute, Porsche Design Studio, Midea, JD, Royole and other top experts and scholars from the international design and technology industry to attend.

　　The participants brainstormed over "design+technology" innovation to see new perspectives and new path of high-quality development of industrial economy. Gao Xiang, Senior Director of Strategic Investment of Royole Science and Technology, said that the company still needed to improve its industrial design. He looked forward to cooperating with excellent design institutions home abroad, including Shunde industrial design enterprises and professionals.

　　Christian Schwamkrug, Design Director of Porsche Design Studio said, "Design is very important for brand building. We should consider the durability of products, and learn to keep pace with the times. Design should have clear objectives. Meanwhile, design also needs to pay attention to product synergy.”

　　"Embrace Global Design Forum" will be held on December 10, and "International Symposium on the Effective Use of Industrial Design International Registration Hague Agreement" will be held in Huagui Park, Shunde on December 13. From 9 to 10 December, four special events for cooperation and docking were held. In the evening of December 9, a "Designer's Night" party was also held in Guangdong Industrial Design City.

　　Yesterday, "Design Shunde" Expert Committee and International Scientific and Technological Design Industry Cooperation Alliance were established. The Sino-Korean Design (Shunde) Center also settled in Guangdong Industrial Design City, and the Design Shunde Exhibition Hall was unveiled.

　　Invest 1.5 billion yuan in three years to move towards capital of industrial design

　　In order to create a new name card of "Design Shunde", Shunde has released the "Design Shunde" Three-year Action Plan (2018-2020). The blueprint for the development of "Design Shunde" has been drawn. The three-year action plan proposes that Shunde will set up a special fund for "Design Shunde", invest more than 1.5 billion yuan in the construction, and implement "six major projects": the expansion of design industry space, improvement of design innovation ability, development of industrial docking and integration, introduction and cultivation of high-end talents in industrial design, international development of industrial design, and construction of industrial design industry environment.

　　By 2020, Shunde will strive to develop Guangdong Industrial Design City into a national industrial design highland, gathering more than 10,000 industrial design professionals, forming a number of well-known design service brands and design innovation leading enterprises, and developing a number of innovative industrial clusters led by industrial design. In the future, standing on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shunde will become a capital of industrial design with strong industrial design industry in China and even in the world.
