Located in the core area of Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster, Nanhai E-sports and Culture Industry Center project came into construction yesterday morning. Aiming at establishing the biggest e-sports complex in the Greater Bay Area and international first-class e-sports town, the project has a total investment of about 2 billion yuan, and the e-sports project in the center is expected to be finished in 2021.
On 11th June, after the meeting about key projects promotion held by Sanlongwan Nanhai Construction Bureau, construction of those projects in the area has been started in successive, such as Sanshan Science Center, E-sports Culture Industry Center and so on.
To introduce leading enterprises and create model projects
Covering an area of 84,200 square meters, the building area of Nanhai E-sports and Culture Center is 277,800 million square meters which has total investment of about 2 billion yuan. After the establishment, the center will include national class A e-sports hall, industry office and other types of business to gather upstream and downstream enterprises and form a group of e-sports, anime and cultural industry. It also plans to introduce dozens of upstream and downstream enterprises in e-sports and culture industry, and supporting enterprises, including leading enterprises in the industry, international e-sports competition, and vocational clubs and so on, aiming at creating Nanhai e-sports industry model project.
The construction of the project is responsible by Nanhai Branch Company of Poly Development Holding Group. Deng Xianli, assistant and general manager of Poly Development Holding Group as well as general manager of the Nanhai Branch Company, said that the area of the project is adjacent to Guangzhou South Railway Station. Convenient transportation is the important condition for center to attract e-sports enterprises.
It is reported that the overall operation of the center is conducted by vocational team, which is responsible to attract enterprises, introduce vocational clubs and international competition. According to the schedule of the construction, the e-sports project is expected to be finished in 2021.
Jiang Yingyi, member of the party committee of Guicheng Street, said that the construction of Nanhai E-sports and Culture Industry Center will promote the concentration of all kinds of talents, technique, information and finance in upstream and downstream industry chain. Guicheng will pay attention to focus and support so as to create Nanhai e-sports industry model.
To distribute emerging industries and accelerate the development of the center
On 21st April, the spring final of League of Legends Pro League (LPL) was held in International Sport and Culture Performance Center in Foshan. The competition attracts billions of people to watch online and off-line.
Since 2018, Nanhai had organized local clubs to hold small e-sports events, meanwhile, introduce LOL International College Club, which creates an atmosphere being suitable for the settling down of e-sports industry, and accelerates the layout in Nanhai. Located in Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster, Nanhai E-sports and Culture Industry Center is the most important part.
Shao Kaijian, Deputy Director-General of Nanhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, said that the relevant supporting policies for Nanhai e-sports industry will be formally introduced in the next half of the year, taking the lead to create an atmosphere to attract the settlement of the e-sports industry in the Pearl River Delta Area.
He added that LPL of this year is a sign of the beginning of Foshan e-sports development and it has been highly recognized in the market. In the following steps, Nanhai will continually promote the construction of the park, youth training base and the whole e-sports industry. “It is expected that relying on the location advantage of Sanlongwan, we can take the effect of the major cities in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, create new cultural industries, and promote the industry transformation and upgrading in Nanhai,” Shao said.
