Industrial Design World Expo 2019 will be held in Shunde in October

　　From October 24th to 26th this year, China (Guangdong) Industrial Design World Expo (IDWE) will be held in Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center. China (Guangdong) International Expo for Household Electrical Appliances (GIHE) will also be conducted in the same period and venue. The two exhibitions will jointly create a one-stop industrial docking platform integrating display, communication, service and business procurement.

　　To promote collaborative innovation in design and manufacturing

　　On July 10th, China Household Electrical Appliances Association, Guangdong Industrial Design Association and Guangdong Industrial Design City jointly held a press conference. "One of the highlights of this expo is to promote the convergence of design and technology, manufacturing, services, talents, cultural and creative elements." Zhou Hongshi, Secretary General of Guangdong Industrial Design Association, introduced that the three-day expo, with a total area of 30,000 square meters, will include Theme Pavilion (Hall 6), Industrial Pavilion (Hall 7), and Experience Pavilion (Hall 10).

　　Among them, the Theme Pavilion will set up public activities and image area, international and domestic design exhibition area, “design plus” exhibition area, etc. The Industrial Pavilion will focus on the display of pan-household design enterprises, fashion and creative design enterprises, new materials design and application, and design industry parks, etc. The Experience Pavilion will set up an activity display area for exhibitors to carry out the launching of new products, on-site teaching, project roadshows and other activities. In addition, special stores of original design will also be held in the Experience Pavilion. “The Expo will be held in Shunde and will become the design collaborative innovation base of GBA. It will also be the accelerator for integration development of design and manufacturing in China, and the platform for design industrialization,” said Zhou Hongshi.

　　Moreover, China (Guangdong) Industrial Design World Expo will be linked to the China (Guangdong) International Expo for Household Electrical Appliances (GIHE). At that time, eight venues of the Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center will open at the same time with a total exhibition area of over 80,000 square meters.

　　Zhu Jun, Secretary General of China Household Electrical Appliances Association, said that at present, 80% of the exhibition work on GIHE has been completed, and 70% of Guangdong household appliance brand enterprises have signed up for exhibiting, such as Midea, Skyworth, Hisense, Galanz, Vanward and so on. As for IDWE, it will invite design companies such as IDEO, Flying Fish, East-Innovation to participate.

　　To create an industrial design highland

　　Design innovation is one of the important indicators to measure the competitiveness of a country and region. More than 20 countries around the world have promoted the design industrialization into national strategy. As the venue of the two exhibitions, Shunde is a manufacturing region and a highland for industrial design companies in Guangdong.

　　Since last September, Shunde fully implemented the design innovation system project, planed to invest 1.5 billion yuan to construct the world's influential industrial design highland. In the past year, over 50 industrial design business entities have been added in Shunde. The total number of them has reached 380, and 10 new design high-tech enterprises have been added with a total number of 50. The design industrialization has developed rapidly in Shunde.

　　“These two exhibitions will be held in Shunde and it will facilitate the deep integration of design and manufacturing services, which we are looking forward to.” said Lu Gangliang, Chairman of OE Innovation Group. His company has transformed from a single design to “design plus manufacturing”. The factory is responsible for the production of micro-environment appliances, home, maternal and child, kitchen appliances and other products developed by four subsidiary companies. Nowadays, the company has launched hundreds of innovative products such as mini humidifiers, portable dry racks and so on, most of which are extremely popular. And many single items are sold for 100,000 or even millions. “The exhibition will allow enterprises to connect with more high-end innovative resources, and OE Innovation Group will also bring the latest innovative products to participate the expo.”
