Foshan people’s livelihood development ranks ninth among China’s prefecture-level cities

  Recently, the sixth China People's Livelihood Development Forum themed with “Rural revitalization” was held in Beijing. The forum released "2018 Top 100 People's Livelihood Development in China's prefecture-level cities". Foshan has entered the list and ranks ninth.

  The report measures the livelihood development of 36 provincial capitals and planning cities, 260 prefecture-level municipalities, using five first-class indicators including people's livelihood foundation, income consumption, living&travel, cultural education, safety&health and 25 second-level indicators to evaluate the result.

  It’s reported that this is the result of eight consecutive years’ measurement of local government livelihood from Beijing Normal University research team, which promotes local people's livelihood improvement and development.

  There are 53 cities in the east, 28 cities in the central region and 19 cities in the west area among the top 100 People's Livelihood Development in China's prefecture-level cities. Under the strategic plan of balanced development of China's east, west and central region and the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, great achievements have been made in the economic and social development of China’s central and western regions, and gaps have been gradually narrowed in the people's livelihood area compared with the eastern region.
