GD unveils plans for 20 pillar& emerging industries in Foshan

　　Foshan, a major manufacturing city on the west bank of the Pearl River, has been placed great expectation inthe 14th Five-Year Plan of Guangdong Province High-quality Manufacturing Development (hereinafter referred to as "the Plan"). 20 industries listed in the Plan (including 10 strategic pillar industries and 10 strategic emerging industries) will have layouts in Foshan, among which five strategic pillar industries and five strategic emerging industries will take Foshan as the core city, with the numberranking No.1 in the prefecture-level cities of Guangdong Province.

　　The plan also proposes to support Foshan in building a high-quality manufacturing development pilot zone.

　　20 strategic industries to thrive in Foshan

　　According to the Plan, Guangdong Province will plan to develop 10 strategic pillar industries, 10 strategic emerging industries and multiple future industries during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

　　Specifically, there are 6 cities included in the planning layout of 10 strategic pillar industries (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Huizhou, Zhongshan, Jiangmen), 6 cities included in the planning layout of 10 strategic emerging industries (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Jiangmen).

　　According to the importance of the layout, the Plan also divides the regional layout cities in industrial clusters into three levels:core city, key city and general city. Among them, five strategic pillar industries including intelligent home appliances, automobiles, advanced materials, modern light & textile and modern agriculture & food list Foshan as the core city; Five strategic emerging industries including intelligent robot, cutting-edge new materials, new energy, safety & emergency and environmental protection and precision equipment list Foshan as the core city.

　　New guidance for Foshan advantageous industries

　　Since the reform and opening up, Foshan has cultivated a number of famous industrial clusters all over the country and even the world, including household appliances, equipment manufacturing, furniture and household furnishing, etc. In view of related strategic pillar industries, the Plan puts forward a new development direction for related industrial clusters in Foshan.

　　In the field of home appliances, the Plan proposes that Foshan should accelerate the implementation of the green manufacturing technology of air conditioning, develop intelligent products, promote the intelligent production of factories, and develop new and efficient kitchen appliances products.

　　In the field of building materials, the Plan proposes that Foshan should focus on the development ofhigh-end building materials and sanitarywares, as well as green steel materials.

　　The plan also mentions that Foshan, relying on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Nanhai) Intelligent Security Industrial Park, will focus on information, production,firefighting, transportation, construction and public security, so as to accelerate the establishment of a national security (emergency) industrial demonstration park.
