Foshan garden opens on Bavarian Horticultural Exposition

　　Bavarian Horticultural Exposition kicked off in Ingolstadt lately, an international sister city of Foshan City. Foshan Garden, designed and funded by Foshan and constructed by Ingolstadt, has turned out to be the spotlight in the expo.

　　Reportedly, the expo will last till October 3, 2021. With the theme of “inspiration and nature”, it covers an area of 230,000 hectares where there is a large field of colorful flowers, a huge water amusement park and various exhibitions. Visitors of all ages can have fun here.

　　Foshan and other 5 sister cities of Ingolstadt were invited to build gardens with their own local features, which will be well-preserved after the expo as a symbol of friendship.

　　Let’s have a look at the Foshan Garden!

　　Covering 354 square meters, Foshan Garden is an irregular quadrangle, whose design embodies four prominent features of this thousand-year-old city -- openness, perseverance, inheritance and development.

The entrance square was made of stones usually used in Lingnan houses, with the decorations of calligraphy carvings.

　　Since Foshan is the birthplace of martial art, the Mook Yan Jong (also called wooden dummy, a classical Wing Chun training device) was set on the entrance to the garden.

　　Steps and stones for space transformation bring rich viewing experiences to visitors. Different kinds of stones, combined with water, form a special landscape.

　　The design of wall, doors, pavilions and so on all reveal Lingnan style. Such elements as paper-cuttings pasted on windows and walls painted with dancing lions add interest to the garden.

　　The sister-city relations between Foshan and Ingolstadt was established in January, 2014. Foshan is the youngest and the farthest city among all sister cities of Ingolstadt, with a distance of about 8,900 kilometers. This two cities since then have a close connection in economy, trade, education, culture and sports.
