Sanlongwan Gate on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway open for traffic

　　At 0:00 on January 1, 2021, Sanlongwan Gate (formerly named as Shizhou Gate) on the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway was officially open for traffic.

　　Foshan Sanlongwan High-end Innovation Cluster (abbreviated as "Sanlongwan") is a major platform and strategic focus for Foshan to integrate into the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as a key "pawn" to promote high-quality economic development, build the pole core of Guangzhou and Foshan, and lead Foshan to contribute in the construction of the Greater Bay Area.

　　In order to speed up the process of co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan, at the beginning of 2020, Nanhai started the traffic upgrading project of Sanlongwan Avenue, which will build Sanlongwan Avenue into a gateway about 15 kilometers long connecting Guangzhou and Foshan. The project, as an important thread to promote the economic prosperity of the Greater Bay Area, has connected with the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway to Shizhou Hutong Interchange in the Nanhai area of Sanlongwan, which plays an important role in improving the traffic conditions and investment environment, and building the one-hour traffic circle in the Greater Bay Area.

　　Liu Yi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Foshan Sino-German Industrial Services Zone (Sanlongwan), said that Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway is one of the core passageways of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, which is of great significance to upgrade the traffic network and create the one-hour traffic circle in the Great Bay Area.

　　According to the objectives of building unimpeded traffic roads, ecological corridor and intelligent channel proposed by the CPC Foshan Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, the comprehensive upgrading project of Sanlongwan Avenue and connected roads are divided into three sub-projects: landscape project, traffic project and intelligent project, in which the investment in the reconstruction of Shizhou HutongInterchange is about 60 million yuan.

　　In terms of landscape, the overall appearance of Sanlongwan Gatewith Foshan Lingnanstyle features, has reconstructed the canopy and adopted the style of sparse forest and grassland in the interchange area. Through terrain transformation, greening, garden construction projects, etc.,it has improved the effectofnight scenery,and implemented the lighting project for Shizhou Hutong Interchange, which has improved the landscape effect of ShizhouHutong Interchange in an all-round way.
