Italian Food Festival held in Foshan

  The Italian Food Festival was successfully held in Florentia Village, Foshan on November 28th and 29th. Luca Ferrari, Italian ambassador to China, Lucia Pasqualini, consul general of Italy in Guangzhou, and Mr. Zhu Wei, mayor of Foshan attended the opening ceremony.



  Beginning with an opening speech by the consul general, the festival organized a pasta competition and tasting with Chinese chefs from Shunde Polytechnic and Italian chefs from Guangzhou Four Seasons Hotel. With different cooking methods, the pasta tasted equally delicious to the judges with authentic Italian flavour.



  In addition, there were wine masterclasses, Italian folk songs and a classics performance in Piazza dei Navigatori. There was also a children’s workshop held simultaneously at Piazza San Paolo.



  This year marks the 5th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World and the 2nd Italian Food Festival held in Guangdong province. Through this grand event, Italian and Chinese chefs, have gathered in Guangdong together with gourmets in the Florentia Village to savor extraordinary Italian tastes for the whole weekend.

  Located in Nanhai district of Foshan City, Florentia Village is known for its Italian-style complexes with open-air squares, galleries, arcades and fountains. Billed as a world-class luxury outlet in Guangdong with Italian-classic architectural style, it is the perfect site for this year’s event by combining the pleasure of eating delicacies with a shopping spree.
