The first Foshan City Art Season to open in May 2021

　　On October 12, Foshan Grand Theatre held the 2nd Anniversary Celebration Event and 2021 “Foshan City Art Season” Press Conference. The first Foshan City Art Season is scheduled to be held at Foshan Performingance Arts Center in May next year, including while the Phantom of the Opera towill be staged at Foshan Grand Theatre in October next year.

　　As a cultural landmark and the top stage of performing arts in Foshan, Foshan Grand Theatre has presented 205 various plays and held about 40 art experience activities in the past two years, attracting 113,300 audiences to experienceadmire the beauty of stage arts. Foshan Grand Theatre not only provides citizens with the enjoyment of elegant arts, but also improves the taste of cultural life in Foshan.

　　In October 2018, Turandot, one of the world’s top 10 operas, was staged for the opening and operation of Foshan Grand Theatre. On the 2nd anniversary, in addition to providing audiences with top domestic and foreign operas, dance dramas, musicals, concerts and other various kinds of stage shows, Foshan Grand Theatre also brought unique artistic experience to the public via various activities such as artist meetings, art experience workshops, art bazaars, and theatre open days.

　　Affected by the epidemic, Foshan Grand Theatre has suspended all stage performances and theatrical activities from February to July 2020, butand instead launched more than 10 online featured activities, such as the popularization of online theater arts, live theater exploration, live interviews with artists, and online concerts.

　　The 1st Foshan City Art season is scheduled to open in May next year at Foshan PerformancePerforming Arts Center, with the phenomenal Shaanxi play White Deer Plain as the opening show. What’s more, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original musical Phantom of the Theater, which is known as “an indispensable musical in life”, will be performed at Foshan Grand Theatre in October next year as the closing show of the art festival.

　　In addition, the art season will present excellent plays of diversified artistic categories from all over the world, including dance, drama, musical, and stage play.
