Foshan martial arts and dragon boat culture shined at Frankfurter Buchmesse

　　On October 12, the online event of the 72nd Frankfurter Buchmesse 2020 was held. The Chinese and English versions (Volume I) of Martial Arts Culture of Foshan China and Dragon Boat Culture of Foshan China debuted.

　　Founded in 1949, the Frankfurter Buchmesse in Germany has become the largest and most important book trade center in the world and a grand event for global book industries known as the “bellwether of world culture”. It is reported that Foshan history and culture series has attracted great attention of international culture industries. Therefore, the organizational institution of the 72nd Frankfurter Buchmesse took the initiative to invite the Editorial Department of Foshan History and Culture Series Editorial Committee to participate in the German book fair this year and show Foshan culture to international publishing industries.

　　The Chinese and English versions (Volume I) of Martial Arts Culture of Foshan China and Dragon Boat Culture of Foshan China are the derived publications of Foshan history and culture series. Based on the published books of Foshan history and culture series, two books have reintegrated resources and were edited and published into a bilingual version suitable for international dissemination and representing Foshan culture in accordance with the reading habits of international readers.

　　Mito, a Canadian independent music producer, said, “I was particularly attracted by the interesting illustrations with Chinese elements in Martial Arts Culture of Foshan China. The book is a great reading material for learning Chinese or reading in both Chinese and English.”

　　The relevant person incharge of the Editorial Department of Foshan History and Culture Series Editorial Committee said that the debut of Foshan martial arts and dragon boat culture in the 72nd Frankfurter Buchmesse was a beneficial international cultural exchange event. By introducing Foshan to the world via this book fair, Foshan’s excellent folk culture will be known by more foreigners to increase the popularity of Foshan in the world and promote the integrated development of Foshan culture and tourism.
