About 1,000 cyclists experience the beauty of Sanlongwan

　　On the morning of September 20, the 6th “Greening Foshan, Sunshine Cycling” Foshan-Rim Environmental-friendly Cycling Activity 2020 kicked off at the Citizen Square of Foshan New City, attracting over 900 cycling enthusiasts from the Pearl River Delta to cycle through the riverside greenway of Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster (hereinafter referred to as Sanlongwan).

　　The activity, divided into 30-kilometer experience group and 100-kilometer challenge group, surrounds the beautiful riverside of Sanlongwan, presenting riverside scenery, ancient village scenery, A-level scenic spots, urban landscapes, etc.

　　The clear rivers along the cycling tour are attributed to the sewage prevention and control work promoted actively by Foshan in recent years. Foshan has explored a new way to reform the construction and management of drainage facilities, and strives to promote the "three integration" management models: the integration of drainage facilities construction and management, the integration of factories and network, and the integration of urban and rural areas.

　　Foshan Library and Fang Tower are rated as green buildings of national standard two-star design logo projects, which have the advantages of saving resources, protecting the environment, reducing pollution, etc.

　　Bijiang Village was selected in the “Top 10 Beautiful Ancient Villages in Foshan”, preserving typical Lingnan dwellings such as Jinlou Tower and Nilou Tower, as well as Lingnan ancestral hall architecture.

　　Since 2019, Sanlongwan has successively launched 9 planning projects, leading the modernization of urban construction with high-level planning, and constructing the ecological spatial layout of Lingnan waterside villages to build Sanlongwan into an area suitable for residence, working and tourism.

　　During the 100-kilometer cycling tour, cyclists cycled through the Foshan New City Waterfront Ecological Corridor, Beijiao Riverside Greenway and other landscape belts, experiencing the amazing scenery of Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center, Midea’s headquarters, Wenhan Lake Park and other landmark buildings and scenic spots of Sanlongwan.

　　Mr. Wu, who has participated in this activity for 4 years, said that previous cycling activities have all attached great importance to the landscape design along the route. The route this year not only presented the environmental-friendly development concept of Foshan’s ecological civilization, but also integrated more elements to engage cyclists in the further experience of Foshan’s cultural connotation and innovative spirits.

　　It is reported that the Foshan-Rim Environmental-friendly Cycling Activity since 2015 has aimed to disseminate environmental protection and positive energy, and show Foshan people’s compassion spirits of helping, loving, encouraging and supporting each other to go forward bravely. This year, a volunteer team of experienced cyclists was formed for the first time to provide assistance with maintenance tools, supplies, and emergency medicine for cyclists in need.
