The night-cruise of Dongping River to be navigated in Oct.

　　On the morning of September 10th, the promotion conference of Foshan’s urban renewal was held, introducing the current development of urban renewal projects in the city.

　　12 projects of the construction of Dongping River have been started

　　In particular, the conference requested to intensively promote the water axis construction of Dongping River to realize the efficiency of the demonstration and pilot zone of the construction of Foshan’s high-quality urban waterfront areas as soon as possible, and promote the construction achievement of qualified projects in time, such as the basic completion of the lighting engineering project and the nigh-cruise project of Dongping River, realizing the official navigation of the first section in the night-cruise project.

　　In recent years, Foshan has strengthened the municipal coordination, established and improved the urban renewal working mechanism, innovated the market-oriented operation mechanism of renovation, started the upgrading of central urban area forms and the renovation of village industrial parks, implemented the three-year action of urban renewal, started the water axis construction of Dongping River, refined to improve the quality of urban space, and accelerated the breakthroughs in urban renewal to promote the high-quality development of Foshan.

　　Qiu Shenghui, Director of the Foshan Urban Renewal Bureau, said that Foshan has started 1,866 renovation projects by August this year and 1,015 of them were completed with an area of 43.33 square kilometers and an investment of 359.5 billion yuan; from January to August, 101 renovation projects were newly launched and 34 of them were completed with an investment of 7.48 billion yuan.

　　Among the 57 projects of central urban areas promotion deployed by Foshan, 42 have been started with a total investment of 31.9 billion yuan since 2018; 12 projects of the 91 projects across 10 major waterfront sections in the water axis construction of Dongping River have been started.

　　Foshan has finished the land renovation of 64.53 square kilometers in village industrial parks, among which 32.93 square kilometers were newly increased from January to August this year.

　　Strengthen the municipal coordination to promote project construction

　　At present, Foshan still has arduous tasks in urban renewal. Qiu Shenghui said that the municipal coordination will be strengthened to improve the policy system and strengthen the planning orientation.

　　Meanwhile, further strengthen the overall coordination to promote the prospective achievements of the project. The water axis construction of Dongping River, along with the major projects of 7 nodes should be started this year to realize a part of periodical achievements. The design proposals and land requisition and demolition of 3 nodes, including Ancient Kiln with Ceramic Charms, Lanshi Port, and Heart of Foshan should be completed effectively.

　　The form of central urban areas should be promoted by launching 55 projects and starting 48 projects this year. During the three-year action of urban renewal, 50 municipal key promotion projects should be substantially launched this year by focusing on the substantive construction of major areas, such as the renovation of northern Chancheng Area and Liansheng Area, old villages and factories along the Lingnan Avenue and Foshan Avenue, and the old villages in Lecong Area, etc.
