On the morning of August 20th, the Cross-border E-commerce Business Training Meeting of Foshan Municipal Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Monitoring Point, held at the Crowne Plaza Foshan, aimed to further promote the new cross-border e-commerce foreign trade model, and deepen the understanding of Foshan foreign trade enterprises on the cross-border e-commerce model.
Special financial support for cross-border e-commerce
Tong Quanqing, deputy director of the Foshan Municipal Bureau of Commerce, said that all levels of Foshan insist on promoting the digital transformation of traditional foreign trade and manufacturing enterprises as a key direction, promoting traditional foreign trade enterprises to enhance their awareness of transformation and upgrading by cross-border e-commerce. It’s reported that municipal and district levels of Foshan will provide special financial support as well as relevant drafting policies and measures for cross-border e-commerce import and export business this year.
At the meeting, Foshan Customs interpreted the customs supervision policy of cross-border e-commerce. It’s introduced that Foshan, as a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce, has four major advantages: bonded online shopping, general export, tax exemption, and verification collection. In the process of cross-border e-commerce B2B export, customs clearance has the characteristics of informatization of the entire customs declaration, new convenient declaration channels, simplified declaration in the comprehensive test zone, and convenient logistics and inspection.
Comprehensive e-commerce service packages promote business
In addition, Foshan Electronic Port Company introduced the "Foshan Foreign Comprehensive Service Platform", which provides convenient customs clearance, industrial big data, one-stop professional services, and provides free and efficient customs clearance declaration services for Foshan import and export enterprises, with data docking, full-process monitoring and other advantages.
Foshan cross-border e-commerce grows against the trend
At the end of 2019, with the State Council’s approval, a comprehensive pilot zone for cross-border e-commerce was established in Foshan. Affected by the epidemic this year, facing difficulties, Foshan has released the policy dividends of the comprehensive pilot zone with solid work when the foreign trade imports and exports have been affected. It is reported that in the first half of this year, Foshan imported and exported 2.92 billion yuan through the customs cross-border e-commerce management platform, with a year-on-year increase of 30.9%. Cross-border e-commerce imports and exports in July are expected to exceed 4.5 billion yuan, equivalent to 60% of last year. In the case of the overall decline in foreign trade, Foshan cross-border e-commerce has achieved contrarian growth.
