Foshan established a major construction project headquarter

　　On the morning of August 12^th, the first plenary meeting of Foshan Major Engineering Project Construction Headquarter was held. Zhu Wei, mayor of Foshan, emphasized that all government departments must conscientiously unify their thinking to the decision-making and deployment of the municipal party committee and municipal government, fully implement the work requirements of the general headquarters and special headquarters, set goals, work hard, and overcome difficulties, and strive to create fresh progress in the construction of major projects.

　　The construction of major engineering projects is theassurance for stable investment. In order to thoroughly implement national and provincial decision-making and deployment, systematically plan and promote major construction projects at a higher level, and build a cross-departmental, cross-regional, and overall coordination and command mechanism, Foshan formally established a major construction project headquarter, with Zhu Wei as the chief commander to lead, coordinate, and promote the planning, construction, and operation of Foshan’s major engineering projects, which will coordinate to solve the management system and mechanism problems existing in the construction of major engineering projects. At the same time, special commands in 10 fields and 2 major engineering projects have been set up, which are responsible for coordinating and directing the construction of specific fields and major projects.

　　Zhu Wei requested to give full play to the overall coordination role of the general headquarter and various special headquarters, make good use of the general headquarters plenary meeting, regular office meetings, and special headquarters coordination to promote the project construction working mechanism, as well asthe hierarchical responsibility mechanism divided by regions and functions, and the departmental linkage and coordination mechanism; try every means to solve problems together and make every effort to ensure the smooth construction progress of major engineering projects.

　　The construction of major projects is of great significancewith arduous tasks. Zhu Wei requested that the list of major engineering projects currently included in the 11 special command headquarters in addition to the airport construction headquarters should be reorganized and improved. The top leader of the special command headquarters personally guards and plans the construction schedule, grasps the progress of project construction in real time, coordinates and solves existing problems as soon as possible, and promotes continuous new progress in project construction.

　　Zhu Wei emphasized that the five districts, referring to the practices of the provinces and cities and combining their own conditions, should establish a district major project construction headquarters, strengthen the joint efforts of the municipal and district levels, further strengthen the project coordination and planning capabilities, and accelerate the planning, layout and reserve of major projects leading the city’s economic and social development.

　　The meeting also notified the construction progress of key projects from January to July this year and the overall status of the dispatching projects included in the headquarters. From January to July, a total of 70.017 billion yuan has been invested in Foshan’s key construction projects, which accounts for 64.2% of the annual planned investment and exceeds the time schedule by 5.9%. Among them, the provincial key projects completed an investment of 36.685 billion yuan, which accounts for 68.2% of the annual planned investment; the municipal key projects completed an investment of 33.386 billion yuan, which accounts for 60.3% of the annual planned investment.
