Foshan aims to be the benchmark of high-quality forest city in GBA

　　On the morning of Aug. 8th, the Pearl River Delta National Forest Park theme promotion event of "Building Urban Groups and Sharing Green Bay Area" kicked off with the main venue located in Foshan, which confirmed Foshan's outstanding achievements in promoting the construction of a national forest city in recent years. As a major manufacturing city, Foshan has continuously contributed to the creation of the Pearl River Delta National Forest City Group and the construction of the beautiful Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

　　Build an ecological green heart

　　Create a waterside towns cluster in Sanlongwan

　　The continuous improvement of the green ecological environment attracts talents and brings business opportunities, and Sanlongwan has increasingly become one of the most popular areas for investors in the Greater Bay Area. On the first anniversary of the construction of Sanlongwan, 15 major projects with a total investment of 35.2 billion yuan settled down, setting off a new round of efforts striving for development.

　　According to the "Conceptual Design of Ecological Environment Space of Foshan Sanlongwan, Guangzhou-Foshan Pole in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", Sanlongwan will be built into a future "village-like" international city with a high degree of Lingnan culture.

　　The city's forest coverage rate exceeds 37%

　　Accelerate the construction of the beautiful GBA

　　From 2018 to 2020, Foshan has completed a total of 6002.53 hectares of newly-added afforestation areas, and the average annual completed new forestation area accounts for 0.53% of the city's area. In particular, the “greening” of urban parks and the “quality improvement” of existing green spaces were carried out. 864.99 hectares of urban parks were newly added; 496.45 496.45 of auxiliary green areas and 661.65 hectares of protective green areas were added or upgraded. Thousands of acres of "green hearts" have been formed in some areas, and the regional ecological environment has been improved.

　　Since 2018, Foshan has upgraded the landscape and infrastructure of Nanguo Peach Garden, Xiqiao Mountain, Chencun Flower World, various forest parks and wetland parks, and built unique eco-tourism spots. At the same time, combined with greenway construction, Foshan vigorously develops ecological and cultural tourism industries, and promotes the development of eco-tourism by combining wetland tourism, leisure bike-way tourism, and Lingnan New Year custom cultural brand tourism.

　　Get through the ecological "joints" among cities

　　Go for the goal of the national forest city group

　　As an important decision-making deployment of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to implement Xi Jinping’s Ecological Civilization Thoughts and the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan", the Pearl River Delta National Forest City Group has begun to take shape, with a forest area of 28,280 square kilometers and a forest coverage rate of 52.16%, 306 forest parks, 127 wetland parks, and 666 street parks. The green area of parks per capita reaches 19.58 square meters, and the coverage rate of built-up green areas reaches 45%.

　　It is expected that by the end of this year, Guangdong is expected to reach the interim target level at the indicator level, and achieve the goal of basically building China's first national forest park urban agglomeration.
