On October 16th, representatives from Sino-German Alliance of Industrial Cities came to Foshan, China again from around the world, discussing the innovation of manufacturing and strengthening their resolve to make manufacturing the pillar of area’s economy. On the general assembly, representatives worked together for new possibilities for the future and explored new room for cooperation.

On the meeting, ISA held the second Sino-German mayors’ dialogue with Zhu Wei, mayor of Foshan and representatives from other member cities carrying out communication centering on the traditions and innovation of manufacturing. Meanwhile, the first issue of Sino-German Local Economy Annual Report was published at the assembly.

  New Sparks from the Dialogue

Together with high-ups from Deutsche Messe, delegates from four member cities, namely Foshan, Maoming, Bottrop and G?ttingen participated in this dialogue.

Zhu Wei has mentioned that manufacturing is the soul and root of Foshan development, and also the very basis for Foshan to become the key manufacturing base at home and even in the world. Entering the new era, Foshan needs to possess the conviction that manufacturing plays a vital role in city development. Compared with developed countries like Germany, there is much room for improvement for Foshan manufacturing in the field of technology innovation. In the future, Foshan will press ahead with intelligent manufacturing and find a way towards world market combining world cutting-edge technology. It’s hoped that Foshan will set an example in China high-quality manufacturing for other cities to follow.

  Continually expanding ISA

Founded in April 2016, Sino-German Alliance of Industrial Cities is a communication platform for important industrial cities from the two countries and acts as a cooperation platform for service industries and small and medium size enterprises. On October 16th, Taicang from Jiangsu province became the 43rd member city of ISA. Up to now, ISA has 43 full members and observed members.

Being the hometown of German enterprises, Taicang has been working with German enterprises for 26 years. Relevant people from ISA responded that the participation of Taicang will create more experience of Sino-German cooperation for other cities in the alliance.

Many German members in ISA come from Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW). Fu Qiang, China Director of Economy Development Agency of German state of NRW said, NRW is an important industrial base in Germany with highly developed logistics and a variety of car industries, and supply chain industries gathering there. There are also more than 1,100 Chinese companies invested in NRW including YIZUMI from Foshan. Fu hoped that NRW will have the opportunity to achieve win-win cooperation with more excellent companies from Foshan and other member cities in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
