Foshan Main Venue of 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup Sets Exemple for Other Venues

As main venues in Foshan, Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center has upgraded its soft and hard facilities.

　　2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan from August 31st to September 15th. There are four competition areas in Guangdong,among which Foshan is “the youngest” one with the best-equipped facilities. It serves as a model for other venues to follow according to FIBA.

　　Hard facilities sets the example for other venues (International Basketball Federation)

　　According to operation team of the venues, even though Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center is “the youngest” one, it satisfied FIBA the most. As it is considered as the venues of the World Cup at the beginning of building, this venue followed the international standard of world-class sports venues with the building area of 155 thousand square meters, accommodating over 15,000 audiences. It also has 52 VIP boxes and is equipped with four sides and three layers of central funnel screen, double-layer 360-degree ring screen, imported EV line array audio and other performance facilities.

　　Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center prepared cloth-changing rooms for 4 basketball teams of Group D in this World Cup. The two biggest cloth-changing rooms is not only equipped with independent closets, numerous showering room, but also coach office, infirmary, massage rooms and dressing tables.

　　Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center is the least upgraded one among the eight competition areas and is promoted as a model by FIBA for other competition areas and international venues.

　　5G will cover the main venues

　　in order to offer satisfying experience to players and audiences at the scene, Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center has organized various warm-up activities for the Basketball World Cup such as Citizen Open Day, Fans Exploration Hall, Little Reporter Pavilion and tested the operation of the venues.. Recently, Anti-terrorism and Anti -riot emergency Handling Drill and Signal coverage detection are carried out in the venues.

　　A staff member from Telecom Operators said that in addition to regular inspections every season, according to background data and staff feedback, signal detection will be run irregularly at the Center to ensure everything goes well with the signal.

　For audience, experiencing 5G new technology is an attractive point in this World Cup. Guangdong Organizing Committee revealed at the press of conference of the International Basketball World Cup Guangdong Division that Four competition venues in the Guangdong Division will take the lead to apply new technology, such as 5G and 4K HD video which helps audience share their happiness of watching the basketball World Cup.

　　Guan Xiaomin, deputy secretary-general of Foshan Organizing Committee, stated that the 5G base stations will be built in the venues of four competition areas in Guangdong to provide a high-quality 5G network environment. By the time, the characteristics of 5G technology, such as high bandwidth, low latency and massive connection, will be applied to live broadcasting of competition, communication guarantee and so on.

　　At present, the top 32 teams of the basketball World Cup have entered the final stage. These two days, the Italian men's basketball team and the Serbian men's basketball team in Group D of this World Cup will arrive in Shenyang successively to participate in the local "Australian Tiger Cup" 2019 Shenyang International Men's Basketball Super Competition. It is reported that the Italian team will fly to Foshan on August 27th , being the first team to test the hardware and software equipment of Foshan International Sports and Cultural Center.
