Foshan ranks the 19th in the top 100 foreign trade Chinese cities

　　According to a list of top 100 foreign trade Chinese cities in 2018 released by General Administration of Customs, Foshan came in the 19th place, up 3 places compared to last year.

　　According to the statistics, in 2018, Foshan’s import and export aggregate increased by 5.5% compared to 2017, reaching 459.93 billion yuan. In the first half of this year, the amount came in at 219.95 billion yuan, up 8.1% compared to the same time last year. Among the figures, import reached 167.41 billion yuan, marking an increase of 7.5%, which is higher than the average growth rate in Guangdong province.

　　There has been a rapid development to the new business form in Foshan foreign trade. Since the end of last year, International Furniture Material Trading Center in Asia has run a pilot program of using market purchase. Under this new trading method, export amounted to 30.62 billion yuan, up 20.3% year-on-year in the first half of this year. Furthermore, improved business environment has also contributed to the increase. For the time being, many reform measures for Certificate of Origin (C/O) such as self-printing, digitalized certificate have been carried out continually. Since 1st August, bar code declaration has been put into use officially in the single-window system. It can greatly improve the efficiency of customs declaration with the commodity automatically being recognized by its bar code in the single-window system. In this way, the system can automatically collect all the elements it needs including classification, origin and specification.

　　With the further development of the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Foshan Customs has worked towards customized service combined with local special industries. Right now, commodity such as vegetable from Sanshui, Tangyu Fish from Shunde can be booked to declare within 24 hours and then released to Hongkong or Macau through the Green Inspection Passage. Other commodities such as ceramics, mini-size household appliances and aluminum profiles can be imported to countries along the Belt and Road more conveniently under the one-stop service combining inspection and certification application.
