Situated in the west wing of Cultural Center in Foshan New Town, Foshan City Exhibition Hall will be open to public on 1 August. Citizens can book a tour ticket on its WeChat public account since 26 July.

Entering the Hall, one can see a huge ceramic lithograph featuring the ancient temple Zumiao, Nanfeng Ancient Kiln and Sanhu Academy, which brings the visitor back in time to Foshan many years ago.

The Exhibition Hall has four theme zones, namely “Impression of Foshan” “Memory of Foshan” “Reform in Foshan” and “Industry in Foshan”, telling all kinds of Foshan stories in the logic of time. With the help of various new digital technologies and interactive facilities, the history of Foshan development can be presented in different forms such as words, videos, products, situational models and VR.

Beside the painting, a zone showing the abundance in Foshan intangible cultural heritage displays various antiques including paper-cut, wood engraving pictures, Canton Embroidery, colorful lanterns, lion dance heads and Shiwan ceramics.

Going upstairs to the first floor, the zone “Memory of Foshan” has recreated the scenarios in the Qing and Ming dynasties using the technology of three-dimensional recovery and situational model. One can enjoy the prosperity of Fenjiang Quay and Tongjing Bridge, then watch Liang Zhonghong picking up Chinese herbs. The Exhibition Hall also provides visitors chances to taste the genuine cuisine back in the ancient Foshan in Sanping Tower and to enjoy Cantonese Opera in the Qianghua Hall. All of the ancient buildings such as herbs shops, martial art schools, piers, tea houses and marital rooms hide in them a long history and abundant culture.

On the second floor, “Reform in Foshan” zone tells the stories about the reform and opening up in Foshan, showing visitors the progress made along the way. Inside the zone there is 4D cinema.
